Terms of Service

Effective Date: 7 November 2025
WalliPass (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a digital campus ID prototype that allows students to store a university credential on their smartphone. By using WalliPass, you agree to the terms below.

1. Eligibility and Pilot Status

  • WalliPass is currently offered as an unofficial pilot for SUNY students, including those at the University at Buffalo. The service has not been formally endorsed or adopted by any SUNY campus at this time.
  • You must be a current student or have legitimate access to use the credential. Physical student ID cards remain the official campus credential.

2. Use of the Service

  • You agree to provide accurate information (name, student ID, and photo) when requesting a WalliPass.
  • You may not share or loan your WalliPass to anyone else, nor may you use it to impersonate another person.
  • Because WalliPass is not officially recognized yet, you should confirm with your campus what (if any) access the pilot pass provides.

3. Data Handling

  • We collect only the information needed to generate the pass: your name, campus ID, and photo.
  • Your data is used solely to assemble and deliver the pass to your device. Temporary files created during pass generation are deleted after completion.
  • Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.

4. Intellectual Property

  • WalliPass software, branding, and workflows are owned by WalliPass. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the service without our permission.

5. Service Availability

  • WalliPass may be unavailable from time to time, including for maintenance or technical issues.
  • Features on our roadmap (such as building access) are not yet live. We will announce formal integrations once official agreements are in place.
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the pilot at any time.

6. Campus Responsibilities

  • Campus IT teams decide whether (and how) to recognize the pilot pass. WalliPass cannot guarantee that every campus service will accept it.
  • If the information on your pilot pass is incorrect, contact us or your campus support office so we can correct it.

7. User Responsibilities

  • Keep your phone secure. If it’s lost or stolen, follow your campus’s ID replacement/safety procedures immediately.
  • Don’t tamper with or attempt to bypass security controls in the service.
  • Report any suspicious activity to us without delay.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • WalliPass is provided “as is” for pilot purposes. We don’t guarantee uninterrupted access or that the pass will be accepted everywhere.
  • To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages that may arise from using or being unable to use the pilot service.

9. Indemnification

  • You agree to indemnify WalliPass against claims or losses resulting from your misuse of the pilot pass or violation of these terms.

10. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by New York law. Any disputes must be handled through courts located in New York, unless your institution requires a different venue.

11. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms as the pilot evolves. We’ll post updates with a new “Effective Date” and notify partner institutions if there are significant changes.
  • Continued use of WalliPass after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
